Singing & piano lessons

If you can talk you can sing!
Everyone has the ability to sing as long  as your voice is healthy. You just need to be willing to put in some practice.
I have successfully helped many students who think they 'can't sing' for various reasons, such as being told at school they can't sing in tune, or their voice doesn't sound nice.

I teach beginner (up to intermediate) piano lessons too. Useful for anyone wanting to learn the basics of music theory, playing to accompany your singing or just for fun. These can be combined with singing lessons.

FAQs
How long is a lesson?
Lessons for adults are usually 1 hour, and for children usually 30 minutes.

What style of singing do you teach?
Good singing technique applies to all styles of singing, so we work on exercises which can be applied to different singing styles, but you can choose the types of songs you most enjoy singing.

How often should I have my lesson?
For children, one lesson a week is usual as this helps keep up regular practise and encourages progress.
For adults, weekly or fortnightly is usual.

How much do lessons cost?
Lessons cost £40 per hour or £20 for 30 minutes.
I can offer some discount for block bookings.

Can I study for exams or auditions?
I can help students prepare for these including classical or rock&pop singing exams with ABRSM  or Trinity music boards.

Are you DBS checked?
I have a  current Disclosure and Barring Service certificate.

Where do you teach?
I teach from my home near Mwnt Cardigan, in my wooden floored studio, with good acoustics and with a piano or guitar to accompany you.

What is the cancellation policy?
Lessons which are cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice are charged at the normal rate (unless there are exceptional circumstances).
